On October 25th, the ISAK Debate Team participated in its first debate competition outside of school at the Nagano Regional Debate Tournament. The students had only three weeks to research and prepare, while the other teams had been preparing for anywhere from five months to a year in advance! The other teams were impressed with our research data, which came from many global news sources. Additionally, they were impressed with, and often caught off guard by, the ISAK students emotional debating style. In the end all teams learned from each other. The debate team has committed to bringing even more research data with them to the next competition.
