10th Anniversary Campaign

Formal agreement reached for ISAK school site

On June 28, a formal agreement was reached for the proposed site for ISAK’s school facilities. The property is located in Asama Terrace, a resort area approximately 20 minutes from Karuizawa Station on the JR Nagano Shinkansen Line (about one hour from Tokyo). The agreement brings us one step closer to the opening of International School of Asia, Karuizawa in the fall of 2014.

Executive Director Lin Kobayashi and other ISAK members searched high and low for the perfect location for ISAK, finally discovering this idyllic location surrounded by lush greenery and a commanding view of majestic Mt. Asama and the Japan Alps.

We believe that the rich natural environment of this quiet corner of Karuizawa will provide the perfect location for future ISAK students to thrive academically, physically and emotionally as they live and learn with their peers from around the world.

Construction of ISAK school buildings is scheduled to commence this fall.

Imagine… if there was an ISAK lower school!

Dear Friends of UWC ISAK,

UWC ISAK is celebrating its 10th anniversary! We are proud of where we’ve come from, and we are excited about the next decade.

At this important milestone, we are wondering – in pursuit of broadening our impact, could an ISAK Lower School be considered as one of the options and would it be feasible? A school that embraces ISAK values and vision for a better future?
