After completing a lengthy and thorough application process, ISAK has been approved as an IB World School, and will be offering the IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma Programme from August 2015. The IB Diploma Programme, developed by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), is one of the world’s most highly regarded high school academic programs. The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is a holistic curriculum which emphasizes both rigorous academics as well as personal development. The program is recognized by universities around the world, ensuring that ISAK students will be well prepared to apply to top universities in both their home countries and beyond.
It can take up to 3 years to complete the candidacy process to become an authorized IB World School. Our staff, led by Assistant Head of School Janice Murabayashi, started the process long before our first class of Grade 10 students arrived on campus last fall. One of the early steps taken by our team was to hire educators with the skills and knowledge necessary to teach IB. All of ISAK’s founding educators have extensive experience teaching the IB curriculum in their chosen fields.
The IB DP will be offered at ISAK beginning in August 2015. All Grade 11 and 12 students at ISAK will complete the DP curriculum, while incoming Grade 10 students will take a rigorous schedule of classes to prepare for the challenges of the DP. We are proud to offer our students what is considered by many to be one of the most challenging and respected diploma programs in the world.
