Last week, thanks to one of our extremely generous donors, the entire ISAK 10th grade class enjoyed a ski lesson and an afternoon on the slopes at our local ski area, Karuizawa Prince Snow Resort.
After getting fitted with skis, boots, poles, goggles and helmets, students teamed up with the fun and talented instructors from Okabe Ski School to learn the basics of downhill skiing. While this was the first time on skis for the majority of our students, the lesson was a huge success! By the end of the day, students were able to ride the chair lift and practice their newfound skills as they swished down the mountain.
The Karuizawa Prince Snow Resort is just a short drive from ISAK. With 10 different ski trails and a terrain well-suited for beginners, Karuizawa Prince is an ideal place for novice skiers to experience the thrill of the world’s most popular winter sport.
What was the lesson of the day? “Don’t forget to bend your knees!”
Our aspiring student film makers, Koki and Xavi, filmed and edited the first ever ISAK ski movie using the ISAK GoCam. Look out, Warren Miller!
