Task 3:Â Â Preparations for the five Courses (to be shared June 1st)
1. The Art of Getting Things Done Class

Â
2. Circular Design Against Inequality Class

Â
3. Designing Your Food Forest Class
- Coming soon
Â
4. The Everyday Stage Class
- Think about what is a form of performance that is from your own background, culture, or identity and prepare a paragraph to share!
Guiding questions: How did this tradition or celebration start? What is the story behind it? What are the forms of performance that are present? Songs, Dances, Prayers, Speeches, etc. Why does this celebration or tradition matter? What is the point? Is there a memory or opinion you have about it? What would you add or change to the celebration or tradition?
Example: My family would always read the same book around Christmas. My dad would read it after dinner. It was a storybook about a grumpy woodcarver who is asked to carve nativity figurines and at the end of the book he has become less grumpy and realizes the values of family and happiness. We would read it because as kids Christmas became very chaotic and about buying presents and eating lots of food, my parents wanted us to remember another version of what Christmas celebrates. They also wanted us to spend less time watching TV and more time reading books. We don’t do it anymore because we don’t live at home. I never really enjoyed the story that much but I did understand why we did it, and the pictures were really nice. I would love to have heard my mother or my other siblings read it.
5. Transforming Landscapes & Perspectives Class
- Coming soon

The Zoom link will be sent to parents via email as the date approaches.
Please note: This event is specifically focused on the Summer School program and not the UWC ISAK Japan high school. If you’re interested in learning more about the high school, we’ll be holding a separate webinar, and details for that will be shared at a later time.
