Chinese New Year is an important holiday for many students at ISAK. To celebrate the Year of the Monkey, there were many celebrations around campus. Students did an amazing job organizing a variety of activities including a lion dance, karaoke, calligraphy, food preparation, and of course, eating!
Traditional celebrations on Chinese New Year center around the family and including giving gifts of red envelopes, firecrackers, new clothes, and decorations. New Year is a time for families to be together and many people journey home from long distances for the holiday. Unfortunately for ISAK students, going home in February is not an option, but we feel we were successful in bringing together the entire ISAK “family” for a very happy Chinese New Year. 新年快乐!
