Have you ever wondered, “Just how does toothpaste actually work?” Well, just ask any ISAK Science Extension Club member and you’ll quickly find out the answer. The student-led Science Extension Club recently tackled the subject of toothpaste in a project titled “An Oral Study on the Effectiveness of Toothpaste; Using Microbiological Technologies and Techniques.”
The students’ research and hard work paid off at the Gunma Kokusai Academy science competition. Eight representatives from the Science Extension Club traveled to Gunma Kokusai Academy and competed in the senior high division against 14 other groups from 4 different schools. The team divided up responsibilities, with some students presenting their experimental findings to a panel of judges, while others argued their case in a scientific debate. At the end of the day, the ISAK team was awarded the 1st Place Prize overall for their scientific process and compelling presentation.
Congratulations to the entire Science Extension Club for their efforts!
