10周年記念

World Youth Peace Forum in Hiroshima

Seven ISAK students, (Adela, Ayana, Saki, AJ, Pema, Priya and Lula) traveled to Hiroshima last week to attend the 2017 World Youth Peace Forum, an event organized by Li Po Chun UWC Hong Kong students. Our students students were accompanied by ISAK teaching fellow, Merisa (who also took the photos for this post!).

The program was filled with a variety of peace-building activities–visiting Hiroshima Peace Museum and Park, speaking to WWII internment camp and bomb survivors and other locals, UN simulations, heated discussions on Middle East conflicts and on media and historical bias. Although it was just a week, our students bonded with UWC students and Busan high schoolers, and together, developed a peace declaration as a step towards future action. The week had its share of cultural activities, too: trying calligraphy and taiko, learning about traditional brush making, and exploring UNESCO world heritage site, Miyajima Island.

Imagine… if there was an ISAK lower school!

Dear Friends of UWC ISAK,

UWC ISAK is celebrating its 10th anniversary! We are proud of where we’ve come from, and we are excited about the next decade.

At this important milestone, we are wondering – in pursuit of broadening our impact, could an ISAK Lower School be considered as one of the options and would it be feasible? A school that embraces ISAK values and vision for a better future?
