Greetings from Karuizawa!
Winter is on its way! While we haven’t had any snow yet, the temperature has dropped and we’ve been reminding students to dress accordingly – with lots of layers!
With just 3 weeks left in the first term, students should expect to feel a bit more busy as their courses wrap up for the semester. This weekend they will get an extra day to rest up, since Monday is a school holiday. It is also a Japanese national holiday, “Thanksgiving Day”, and most students have chosen to stay at ISAK over the weekend and relax. We’ll be providing transportation to various locations around Karuizawa over the weekend.
Our university visits are winding up and will resume in the spring. Our last visit will be this Wednesday with International Christian University (Japan). This is a highly regarded private school with a long history of international education. The following week we will have a visit from a scholarship program that provides funds for students who wish to attend university in Asia. We hope both visits will be well-attended by students.
Winter vacation update: students can begin to leave ISAK at 5pm on Friday, December 18. They should all depart by midday, Saturday, December 19. Overseas students will not need to reapply for their visas. You can see more schedule details on our school calendar and we will provide students with detailed information about leaving and returning to Japan before winter break.
