Ms. Murabayashi’s Update – April 17

Greetings from Karuizawa!
The weather has warmed up quite a bit, and while there are still some cold spells, wind and rain, the worst of it is definitely over!  The cherry blossoms are barely starting to bloom here in Karuizawa, so in a week or two we should be enjoying that very classic Japanese experience.  In the meantime the daffodils have sprouted in random places, yay!
In Other News:
  • Congratulations to Jin, MItsu, Kazune and Rena (all G10) for winning the very competitive “Next Entrepreneur Summit” competition!
  • Our students enjoyed a fascinating presentation from Mr. Mitsuru Izumo a  founder and CEO of Euglena on Friday.
  • G-10 students had a full day field trip to Shimonita on Saturday with several interesting stops along the way. You can read about the outing here.
  • Third quarter progress reports are almost ready to be sent.  You should expect to receive them via email from me by Friday at the latest.
  • A reminder from Mr. Jemison for everyone to re-read the student handbook with school rules and policies. You can find this on the For Current Students page on our website. Emergency information can also be found there.
  • And finally, our thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by the earthquakes in Kyushu.  We were unaffected by the earthquakes so it’s been quite shocking to see the extent of damage there.
