I wished for new perspectives and experiences and I wanted to create memories in a new way.
Why did you choose to attend UWC ISAK Japan?
I wanted change in my life. I felt like this was a one-of-a-kind school, and it would have been a big mistake in my life if I didn’t apply.
How has UWC ISAK Japan impacted your life?
It has become my second home, and the community here has become my family. UWC ISAK Japan has opened doors to countless opportunities for me while giving me such comfort and a safe environment to study and create positive change.
How has your decision to attend boarding school affected your relationship with your parents?
I expected my relationship with my parents to be degraded, but surprisingly it improved.
What is your favorite part of daily life at UWC ISAK Japan?
My favorite part of daily life happens every night before I go to sleep when I let my mind go through the memories and experiences of the whole day – it makes me happy.
What have you learned about yourself by being part of the UWC ISAK Japan community?
I’ve learned that I have two very different modes, being an extrovert as I interact with the community, and an introverted mode where I spend time with myself being mindful and reflecting on what I’ve accomplished and what I would like to accomplish.
