Apply Through GSP

The UWC Global Selection Programme (GSP) is an additional application route for students who can pay full fees and would like to enroll at a UWC school from Grade 11 (IBDP Year 1).

The programme offers a limited number of places and applicants are not eligible for financial assistance. If you are currently in Grade 10 and do not need financial assistance, this might be the ideal application path for you.

Spaces are limited and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so we strongly recommend interested students to apply sooner rather than later.

To be eligible to apply for 2023 entry through GSP, you must meet the following criteria:

Born between July 2006 and January 2008
Currently in US Grade 10 or equivalent
Intermediate or higher English proficiency
Not applying for financial assistance
Not applying concurrently through the National Committee process

School Fees

Please note that applicants who choose the GSP route will not receive any financial assistance if the application is successful. Annual School Fees for the 2023-2024 school year are as follows:

Total fees: 5,700,000 JPY
Enrollment Fee*: 300,000 JPY

* One time non-refundable Enrollment Fee: 300,000 JPY

GSP Application Process

UWC ISAK Japan offers a unique and challenging learning experience. To determine if UWC ISAK Japan is the right option for you, the GSP application process seeks to learn as much as possible about you, and gives you the opportunity to learn more about us along the way. All applicants are assessed according to the UWC Selection Criteria.

The GSP selection process assesses students according to the UWC Selection Criteria and consists of the following 4 stages:

STAGE 1: GSP Application Form

The first stage of your application requires you to complete a common GSP Application Form hosted on the online UWC Applications portal. You can submit only one UWC application per year. Your application journey begins when you set up a username and password that you will use to access your application as you move through the process. STAGE 2: Meet & Greet

Once you start your application, you and your parents/guardians are welcome to reach out to us to ask any questions you may have. We are available via email or we can also set up a video call.

STAGE 3: GSP Selection Day

If your GSP Application Form is shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an Online Selection Day consisting of two group activities, an interview, and an emotional wellbeing questionnaire.

STAGE 4: Additional interviews

Successful GSP selection day applicants are invited for an official screening conversation with the admissions team. After this, we will make final decisions and make an offer to accepted candidates. You will be notified of the decision within three weeks after attending a GSP Online Selection Day.

Timeline

Global Selection Programme applications are open on a rolling basis and will close once all places have been filled. Decisions are released within two weeks after attending an Online Selection Day. To be considered for a place at our Online Selection Day, you will need to submit your application at least three weeks before the selection day you would like to attend. The last available selection day is on 30 April.

Note that UWC ISAK Japan has a limited number of places available for GSP-selected students. If UWC ISAK Japan is one of your top choices, we recommend that you submit your GSP application sooner rather than later.
