“ Everyone’s opinion matters, even if it is completely different from mine. “
Yuina, Japan / Hong Kong -2016 participant
“ It was the best summer school ever! I enjoyed a lot, and learned a lot. I loved all of the teachers, classes, and other activities. Friends around me at ISAK were very mindful, and each of them had a very strong opinion about global issues and other problems in the world. I had a very joyful time listening to those. Again, thank you for giving me this opportunity, and I hope students coming next year will have same experience.”

“ I have learned great skills and I have learned that awareness is one of the most important things . Being aware can help you practice most effectively, but it will also enable us deal with situations more calmly. This is because when you are aware, you tend to notice what you are doing, and stop yourself. Awareness can also help us limit the amount of our unconscious moments. Because of summer school, I am determined to meditate 20 minutes a day. “

“ The overall summer school experience is probably one of the best two weeks of my life. Even though I go to an international school, I haven’t met a group so bright and so diverse as this one. To be honest, when I first came here, I was a bit hesitant and unsure, but I have learnt more and grown more socially and have learnt so much about our world and the people in it than I have ever done before.
Everyone here is so hard working, so talented, so strong, but I was especially grateful for having the Japanese kids who couldn’t speak English that well, because they showed me how much I could do, and I really respect them.
All the teachers and counselors were so nice, caring, funny and so much more – I just couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thank you to everyone for making these two weeks ones that I will not forget for a long time.”
Tenzing, India -2016 participant
“ The most important thing that I learned at ISAK is how to socialize with different kinds of people and use the diversity in a positive way. I also learned that respecting others opinions is an important thing and sharing your own opinion is also important. I had the best time here at ISAK, so I would like to thank for that and I hope that I will be able to come back soon.”
Misaki, Japan / Luxemburg – 2016 participant
“There were so many things I learned but I think the most important would be about awareness and perspectives. This experience has completely changed the way I look at the world.”
Ethan, Australia / Hong Kong -2016 participant
“I learned that ISAK was a place of diversity where you could grow and change. I also learned that people accept your flaws and it was a kind and accepting community. ISAK is a place where you can enhance your understanding of cultures and community.”
Tanish, Mauritius / India – 2016 participant
“I learned that, as the new generation, we are the ones who can be open and accept all different kinds of people regardless of their gender, religion, way of life, etc. We are also the generation who is going to be facing massive problems due to climate change, but we can stop it or at least slow it down.”
Michelle, Malaysia / Singapore -2016 participant
“ I think the most important thing I learned at ISAK is that it is okay to feel emotions even though people often tell you not to and it’s bad. I really felt okay to express who I really am and my beliefs here because the program felt very inclusive and structured to comfort everyone.”
